Challenges Encountered by the American Correctional Association

The American Correctional Association has encountered several issues and challenges in the recent years. Just like the other criminal justice agencies in the world, ACA has encountered three main challenges: handling the minorities, the abuse of professional boundaries, and the effective management of inmates. The Agency identified the issues as central to the proper management of inmates as well as the maintenance of public trust and security. The effective management of inmates also includes ensuring positive relationships between the agencies and inmates. There are several reasons why the agency identified the need to address the issues. The essay analyses the internal and external public safety issues identified above in accordance with the goals, mission, and vision of the agency.
